Abstract
In a newfound open cluster, a suspected red giant (NGC 4349-127) and its orbiting brown dwarf (NGC 4349-127b) are modeled in a simulation. First, MESA (Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics) is used to simulate the red giant. Then, Starsmasher is used to collide the brown dwarf and the presumed red giant. The simulation is used to confirm the existence of both interstellar objects, as well as determine if the red giant changes in terms of surface rotational velocity and mass when in a collision with the brown dwarf, or if the brown dwarf become a star or be destroyed. Finally, using the rendering program Splash, the results of each simulation are rendered into animated density and particle mass plots.
