Abstract
The project developed is a Black history website titled “Overlooked History”. This website is intended to be used as an educational platform that teaches users about facts within Black history that are not taught and/or expanded on within basic history and social studies classes. The website will be made through HTML, CSS, and JavaScript programming languages. The topics displayed on the website will come from Allegheny College students who are 18 and up in which a Google form will be sent out where they will be asked three questions regarding their high school history and social studies class experience. The questions on the form are: What are topics that were not covered in your high school history classes related to Black history that you wish you had learned about? What are topics that were covered in your high school history classes related to Black history that you wish they had gone more in-depth about? What are topics related to Black history that you think everyone should learn about? From there, the writer took those topics, researched them, and applied them to the website. Within the site, there are a lot of pictures for visual purposes and features for engagement. A page dedicated to understanding the purpose of why the website was made and who developed it along with references to where the images and content were found within the site. The site also provided a feedback form at the bottom of each page for users to share their thoughts.
