Abstract
My senior project is an investigation of power and shame associated with female sexuality. I manipulated video footage to generate a portrait of the uncomfortable familiarity I experienced growing up and being told to be less sexual. The dichotomy between empowerment and oppression in my art is designed to make the viewer question what it means to be free, as well as what it means to be whole while living in a world filled with the ever-existing double standard of sexual equality.
