Abstract
This was a cross-sectional study of the National Longitudinal Survey data from the year 2018. The analysis was on the relationship between employee outcomes and cash-based rewards. Employee outcomes were defined as tenure, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction. The study researched if bonuses would influence those employee outcomes. The cash bonus amount was also tested with its relationship with employee outcomes. It was concluded that bonuses positively affect tenure and job satisfaction but negatively impact life satisfaction, with the most significant impact coming from the positive effects on tenure. The amount of cash bonus was irrelevant to employee outcomes, however.
