The Poisson Distribution and Statistical Tests about the Frequency of Home Runs in Major League Baseball

Abstract
This senior project studies the distribution of the number of home runs hit during major league baseball games, which we find to be Poisson distributed. We also study the correlation between the number of home runs that a team hits in a game and whether it wins the game; this we do using Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient.
