Abstract
This paper investigates the effect of attendance size, temperature, and distance traveled by the away team on home field advantage in softball. Utilizing results from 2023 Division I softball games, multiple chi-square independence tests are conducted to reveal no statistically significant relationship between home team wins and each of these three factors. However, a strong dependence between being a home team and winning a game was determined, confirming the findings of Simon and Simonoff.
